My primary goal is to provide individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, PTSD, parenting issues, anger management issues, divorce, workplace racism/bullying, addiction, low self-esteem, and self-blame with a welcoming and safe environment to share their stories. By approaching your experiences from a strength-based, non-blaming, and non-pathological perspective, we can work together to explore the various aspects of your narrative and how they may have contributed to your current challenges.
My background as a Registered Nurse has given me a unique perspective on mental health. As a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) I believe that mental health is not a linear phenomenon, but rather a multifaceted one that requires a holistic approach to address colonization, racism, trauma, and oppression.
I use Emotion Focused Therapy in a culturally sensitive manner to help you express your thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a way that allows you to speak your truth, regain your power, and move forward with your life
Throughout our therapeutic journey, I will incorporate Trauma-Informed, Cognitive Behavioral, and Psychodynamic Therapy to help you understand the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Together, we will create a treatment plan that is holistic, practical, culturally sensitive, and based on evidence-based practices.
